I was sitting in summer school today playing with all the different things we talked about yesterday in class and it occurred to me that I could of used this information years ago! How much easier would group projects be in college if Google Docs was around? How much easier would term papers be with access to Google scholar? Now knowing how to use these tools I hope that I could use them in the future. I can see a situation where students homework is assigned, completed, graded, and returned all without printing out a single page of paper.
Another thing that is very nice about Google Docs is that it pretty much eliminates ever having to carry a flash drive around again. The one exception to this is if a user is not connected to the internet but it seems that anymore you never go anywhere without it. I think if Google made a way for Google Docs to work without being connected to the internet it would quickly take the place of Microsoft Word due to ease of use and the ability of being able to share your information with selected groups of people without e-mail.
Your statement about a flash drive is so true. Last year mine got corrupted by a virus. I lost every document I had created for the three previous years. Tests, worksheets, readings, PowerPoints, you name it.
